Things are run a little differently in Ms. Ingrid’s classes at Dance for All.
For the beginning students, the tights, leotards and ballet shoes must all be pink. No exceptions. Hair must be secured in a proper ballet bun. Untidiness is not tolerated and a differently colored leotard is met with a brief tsk, tsk.
The rules are not frivolous. They help set the precedent that when you are in the studio, you are focused on ballet. The world, your troubles (and your street clothes) are all left off of the dance floor. Even though the students can be as young as six-years-old, it has a tremendous impact on the way they carry themselves and it helps them start to get used to the idea that they are truly something special.
